Welcome back to our journey of our lives before motherhood. I hope everyone had a nice break over the holidays and some time to work on your layouts. I’m always in a continuing mode of searching through memorabilia and photos. I have a couple layouts to share with you this month.
Let’s move on into the years between 5 and 13, grade school years. It’s not all about school per se, but our lives during those years.
I have some questions to help jump start your journey and hopefully they’ll bring many many more memories to mind.
I wondered too if any of you lived in a military family? That would be very interesting to scrap. Was your father in the military? Did you move often or was your family mainly in one place? What was it like and did it affect you in any way, if at all?
What kinds of activities did your family do together? Did you have a family night?
What kinds of games did you play?
Did you have a favorite toy or toys?
Where did you attend grade school? Do you have any photos of the school house?
Who was your best friend or friends?
What was your favorite subject?
Who was your favorite teacher?
Did you belong to any after-school groups, such as Girl Scouts or 4-H?
Did you have any particular hobbies?
Did you have a favorite relative that you spent time with? For example, grandparents or cousins, aunts and uncles?
Did you have a favorite television show or shows?
If you have relatives close to your age that you spent time with as a child, and you’re having or THINK you’re having trouble remembering things, ask them to help you. More often than not, they’re going to remember things that maybe you’ve forgotten about doing.
I purchased a small notebook that I can keep in my purse or near my work area and when something comes to mind that I’d like to include in my album, I can jot it down so as not to forget it later on.
Okay, I guess I’m showing my age, huh? Starting to forget things and even putting things in an important place so I’ll remember where they are when I need them again. Uh huh…….and then I forget WHERE I put them. I’m sure at least SOME of you can relate to that! Thus, my little notebook.
So now I’ll share a couple layouts with you that I’ve done for this month. And NOW……..I’m exactly where you are and back to sorting and scanning more photos. I’m at the same stage of the journey as you. We’re working towards our goal of completing our album this year and I’m right beside you!
