Template Tuesday – November 29, 2011

Can you believe it’s almost December?!  I’m always amazed at how fast a year flies by!  I have absolutely NO shopping done, no decorating done yet, and I always tell myself that I’ll NEVER do this again.  How many years have I been telling myself that now?  Too many to count.  Oh well, I guess that’s just how I roll.

Since I brought up December, I want to let everyone know that Template Tuesday will be on hiatus for the month of December but will return in January 2012. ( And I’ve got a points system set up for your participation in the Template Tuesday which will begin in January too.)   I’ll be spending my time catching up with all the things I mentioned above that I haven’t done yet AND participating and posting here on my blog my progress with Ali Edwards’ “December Daily” as well as Shimelle’s “Journal Your Christmas”, both VERY fun and meaningful projects.  So be sure to pop in and see how I’m progressing.  The link to Ali’s “December Daily” is dated 2009 but it’s a recurring project she leads every year.  You’ll find more updated information just by checking her homepage.  Shimelle’s page is dated 2010 but again, it’s a recurring project.

Now that I’ve ranted, onto the Template.  This one looks simple, yeah?  Templates can be made just as simple or as complex as you want.  That’s why I love them so much.  You can always either add to or take away from them.  Flip them, turn them upside down, sideways, whatever you want for your very own creation.

Here’s the template you’re getting today.  Each zipped template includes a PSD layered template and a TIFF file.

And of course, here’s my inspiration for you.  Meet my youngest grandson, Elijah.  This was his 2nd birthday party and I finally managed to catch him standing still for a moment.

I like to add shadows to my elements to give the piece more depth.  I’ll zoom in to 100% while adding the shadows so as not to get them too dark.  I usually lower the opacity of the shadow layer just a bit.

Credits:  I used Art Play Palette Ablaze by Ana Aspnes which was part of the Daily Digi files this month.  I just love her artsy flair.  The stitching is from Syrin and the fonts are Arial, P22 Allyson, and Plantagenet Cherokee.

For all you My Memories Suite fans, stop back tomorrow and there will be another free download for you courtesy of My Memories.

You can download your template in the righthand sidebar under “Downloads”.  I hope you enjoy it!  Template Tuesday will see you again in January!!

Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping,
Cheryl
