Happy Tuesday everyone! Thanks for joining me. I have a template for you and a few instructions on using it. And for all you paper scrappers, you can choose to try the digi template or simply use it as a sketch to create your layout. I’d love to see what you all come up with.
The zip file contains templates in PSD and TIFF format, as well as a preview and the example layout you see below for your inspiration.
Here are a few instructions on using the digital template but I’m actually thinking of posting a more in-depth tutorial since this will be an on-going challenge, so watch for that soon.
Adding Photos to your template:
- Once your template is open in your graphics program, in your layers palette be sure the photo placement layer is highlighted that you’re going to be using.
- Drag your photo onto the template and it should be positioned directly above that photo placement layer.
- You may need to do some resizing at this point, getting your photo as close to the size of the photo matte as possible.
- TIP: To avoid distortion of your photo, in Photoshop, hold down your shift key while dragging the photo from one of the corners with your “Move Tool”
- Click Control>G and your photo will snap right into the placement matte. You can still position the photo by using the “Move Tool” by dragging the photo exactly where you want it in the frame.
- Use the same technique to bring your papers into the template. Continue to embellish as you wish.
Here’s my example layout.
You can share your layout directly from your blog or Flickr or even your favorite gallery. Just click on the “Add Your Link” button below to share your creation.
Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping,
Cheryl

Hey Cheryl! Nice to see you! This caught my eye on facebook, so I clicked.
Do you have a shop now? I might join this challenge… time is short these days.
I sell at Digizinesdzines and Nifty Boutique and My Memories. I’ll be running challenges from my blog here though. Nice to hear from you Pammy!!
Never mind, I found your shops!
Hi, Cheryl! It’s good to see you again. I’m excited that you are going to start the class “My Life…..Before I Was Your Mother” on November 1st. I’m really looking forward to it. This is a great template. What is the deadline for this to be done? Are there specific kit or designer requirements?
Hi Terry! Since I’ll be doing the Template Tuesday on a weekly basis, I’ve set the InLinkz sharing button to expire at midnight prior to the new template coming out, so you’ll have a week to share your layout. I’m so glad you’ll be joining in and I’m excited for the “My Life” to get started again also!
Do I need to use a kit you designed or can it be something by another designer?
You can use any kit you like Terry. Just be sure to give credits for whatever you’ve used.
Can’t wait to see your share!
I just posted my layout. I’m not sure where I’m supposed to post the credits. Here they are: Word Art, Aebras in Charge, and Glitter Accessories~Black all by Kathryn Estry; template by Cheryl McCain.
Iios…that should have been Zebras in Charge.
Terry – what a gorgeous layout! Love the kit you used with the background and wordart. The photos are sweet! I like the glittered swirl too. Thanks so much for participating!
Are we going to be having another Template Challenge soon?
LOL, yes Terry – it was posted this past Tuesday. If you look at the top menu bar and “hover” over the “Template Tuesday”, you can see all that have been posted and the date it is posted. There’ll be another new one this coming Tuesday as well, every week.
Thanks for checking!!
